How anxiety can show up
Anxiety is a normal emotion. It becomes a difficulty when it stays with us for too long or starts limiting our life. It can show up as:
- constant worry and racing thoughts,
- tension in the body, a racing heart, difficulty breathing or sleeping,
- sudden episodes of intense fear (panic attacks),
- avoiding situations, people or places,
- exhaustion from work stress — or from building a life in a new country.
How we work
In therapy we learn practical ways to calm body and mind in difficult moments. At the same time, with the systemic approach, we look at what “feeds” the anxiety in your life — demands, relationships, roles — so that change lasts.
Online sessions are especially convenient when anxiety makes getting somewhere difficult: you join from your own safe space.
Frequently asked questions
When does anxiety need professional help?
When it affects your sleep, work or relationships, or makes you avoid things you want to do. You don’t need to wait for it to “get worse”.
Does online therapy work for anxiety?
Research shows that online therapy can be just as effective as in-person therapy for many forms of anxiety.
Will I need medication?
Psychologists do not prescribe medication. If an assessment for medication seems useful, I will suggest seeing a psychiatrist, in collaboration with you.
